About AHVED Ayiti
Since 2007, AHVED has mobilized the Haitian diaspora to invest in communities, build local leaders, and create lasting development in Haiti — not through charity, but through collective ownership and partnership.
Misyon Nou
Our Mission
AHVED — the Association of Haitians Living Abroad for Development — was founded on a simple conviction: the Haitian diaspora has the power to build the Haiti it left behind. Not by sending money and hoping for the best, but by organizing, partnering, and showing up.
AHVED Ayiti is the Haitian-focused branch of that mission — channeling diaspora resources, expertise, and solidarity directly into communities in Haiti through programs that are community-identified, locally led, and built to last.
Sa Nou Fè
Four Pillars of Our Work
Neighborhood Empowerment
Through Konbit Pou Sove Ayiti, we organize communities to take collective ownership of their cleanliness, safety, and future — neighborhood by neighborhood.
Faith-Led Partnerships
CANA — the Christian Alliance for a New Ayiti — connects churches, schools, and nonprofits worldwide with communities in Haiti through faith-based solidarity.
Agricultural Development
From the Konbit Sant Agrikol to school feeding programs, we invest in Haiti's agricultural future — restoring the land and rebuilding food sovereignty.
Education & Scholarships
Konbit Bous Detid funds young Haitians in technical trades. We also support schools in St. Marc and beyond with supplies, repairs, and teacher support.
Istwa Nou
Our Story
AHVED was born in Fort Myers, Florida in 2007 among Haitian immigrants who refused to watch their homeland struggle from a distance. The founders understood that diaspora energy — the talent, resources, and love of a people scattered across the world — is one of Haiti's greatest untapped assets.
Over nearly two decades, AHVED has responded to Haiti's earthquakes, hurricanes, and ongoing crises not just with emergency relief, but with long-term investment. Schools in St. Marc have received consistent support. Health missions have served over 3,000 patients. The Konbit movement has grown into a nationwide neighborhood action program.
Today, AHVED Ayiti operates through three flagship programs — Konbit Pou Sove Ayiti, CANA, and Haiti Development — with a shared vision: a Haiti that rebuilds from within, guided by its own people.
